We at Instrument have created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to protecting your personal information and informing you about how we handle it. This Privacy Policy only applies to transactions and activities in which you engage, and data gathered, on the Site (and sub-domains) and servers but does not apply to any other website or to any offline point of contact between Instrument, or any other company, and consumers. Please review this Privacy Policy periodically as we may modify it from time to time without notice. This Privacy Policy was last modified on July 15, 2009 and is a part of the Interface Terms of Service policy. Each time you visit the Site, use a Product or Service provided by Instrument or provide us with information, by doing so you are accepting the practices described in the version of the Privacy Policy in effect at that time.

The term “Instrument” or “us” or “we” refers to the owner of this Site. The term “you” or “User” refers to any user or viewer of this Site.


Visiting: Like most commercial websites, each time you visit the Site, we automatically collect your IP address and the URL of the web page from which you came. In order to administer and optimize the Site for you and to diagnose problems with our Site, we use your IP address to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information about you.

Registration: The Interface Product and Service require a login in order to provide you with a personalized user account. During our account registration process, we will collect a login name, password, and an email address from you. You must provide and maintain current all of this information in order to obtain an account and you agree to allow Instrument to use this information to contact you regarding your account.

Accounts: If you choose to open a paid account for a Product or Service with Instrument, Instrument will collect personally identifiable information (credit card number, billing address, phone number) and keep this information on file in our secure server in order to process your recurring invoices. This information is only used to verify credit card authenticity, and issue invoices as per your service agreement. Upon discontinuation of Instrument Products or Services and payment in full of any remaining amounts owed to Instrument, your information will be immediately destroyed in our billing system.

If we are unable to process your subscription at any time, we may use this personally identifiable information, along with your account information, to contact you.

Hosted websites: Websites using Instrument Products and Services may offer opportunities to supply your email address when making comments on their website or contacting them through their website. Since we do not have control over how members run their individual sites, this privacy policy does not apply to any hosted Interface website that you do not own. You should be sure that you trust the owner and policies of a particular website before submitting personally identifiable information on that site.

Server Logs: When you access web pages on the domain, Instrument may log your IP address, access URL, time of access, browser type, and referral URL in order to provide us with internal information regarding Site traffic statistics. We use this information to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. This information may also be used to identify users who are using the Product or Service for spam or other activity that is deemed in conflict with our Terms of Service. This information is used in the aggregate and is never linked back to any personally identifiable information.


Changing Information: All information that Instrument stores related to your account, including any subscription billing information, is accessible through your Account Center. We encourage you to keep this information up to date so that your customer service requests and billing processes operate efficiently.

Removing Information: To remove your personally identifiable information from our system, submit your User account for cancellation with our Support team. Your personal information will be removed immediately payment in full of any remaining amounts owed to Instrument, though your actual login name will remain reserved on our system. While you maintain an account with us, if you wish to remove billing information from our system, you must replace it with updated details.


The information we collect from users is not shared with any other company, person, or organization for any purpose. Upon request, we will provide Site visitors with access to unique identifier information or transaction information (e.g., subscription dates or payments) that we maintain about them. Consumers can access this information by contacting us in writing at the postal or email address listed above. For security purposes, we may ask for information verifying your identity before complying with you request. We may also disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website or when your actions violate the Terms of Service. Instrument uses hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run Instrument Products and Services. Although Instrument owns the code, databases, and all rights to the Product and Services, you retain all rights to your own data.

Service-related Announcements: We may send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. Please maintain current and accurate your account information so that you are able to receive service-related communications from Instrument. Customer Service: If you issue a Support or Sales request, or a general inquiry, to Instrument, we may use your information and email address to contact you regarding your inquiry using the information you provided.

Non-promotional emails: Only non-promotional service announcements, as described in the above section, will be issued without prior authorization. Upon canceling your User account or Interface instance and paying any past-due fees, you will no longer receive communications from us (including service announcements).


Like most websites, we use small bits of data called cookies stored on Users’ computers to simulate a continuous connection. Cookies let us “remember” information about your preferences and passwords and allow you to move within our Product and Services without reintroducing yourself. Members who disable cookies will not be able to use Instrument’s Products and Services, as they are required to maintain your login to our Service within a browser session.
